Joseph Burchell is the Managing Director and co-founder of CGEN Engineering Ltd, a University of Edinburgh spin-out developing modular electrical generator systems for renewable energy applications. He also holds a Research Fellow position in the Institute for Energy Systems at the University of Edinburgh.

Joseph's work focuses on the design, optimisation, and testing of generators for wave, tidal, and offshore wind energy systems. He is dedicated to advancing reliable, large-scale renewable power technologies that support the global energy transition.
